Amsterdam and Nijmegen, Netherlands

OK, OK! I have not been too prompt on posting and that is going to change starting now.

I recently went on a business trip to the Netherlands, and was accompanied by my beautiful, wonderful wife Melinda. We were in Amsterdam Nov 9-11 for a nice relaxing weekend. We stayed at the Amsterdam Renaissance (Marriott property) and it was a very nice hotel. While waiting in the hotel lobby we were pleasantly surprised to run into my colleague from the SHARE Board of Directors, Richard Buckle. You may recall from my first post that Richard was the one who convinced me of the merits of blogging.

Richard has been to Amsterdam several times and knew of a superb restaurant, which translated to the Five Flies. It has been there for over 400 years, and it was an absolutely wonderful dining experience.

Melinda and I went to see Anne Frank's house, and also walked around the central part of Amsterdam, taking many pictures. They will soon be posted on my website at www.steveguendert.com.

I was in the Netherlands to attend some refresher training from Intellimagic at the Scandic SANADOME in Nijmegen. It was a great chance to see my friends Dries deJong and Gilbert Houtekamer from Intellimagic, plus learn some new material. The Sanadome was nice. While I was in class, Melinda got to enjoy the spa. It was also a nice opportunity for Melinda to meet Gilbert and Dries since she hears me talking about them so often.

Many thanks for talking about me Steve so its only appropriate that an early comment posting comes from me.

I will be checking in from time to time and i like your style. Keep it up - our community needs to find places like this to get additional opinions.

Cheers - RB
